Azzip Pizza installs solar energy system

Evansville, Indiana based Azzip Pizza has installed a 17.6KWdc solar energy system to provide power for their business management and operations headquarters. The fast growing family owned business was recently featured in an article in Indiana Business Magazine. The system will generate approximately 23,000 KWH's per year for their new office location on Franklin Street near Evansville's downtown and reduce CO2 emissions by 16.1 metric tons per year. The grid-tied solar energy system will sending electricity into the building through the electrical panelboard and has the capability of sending power back to the power grid during sunlight. This type of system does not require batteries and is estimated to save the business approximately $3500 per year in electricity costs. Since the building is located in an IRA designed low-income zone, the business is eligible for a 40% federal tax credit.


A ribbon cutting ceremony will be held on April 3rd at 11:00am at the office which is located 810 W. Franklin Street, Evansville, IN 47710.
